Shockwave,
I see your problem. The rules don't give Great Form spirits any additional
power except area effect engulf and show side effects. If you GM agrees that
this is a little weak for and Astral Quest he could always rule that the extra
power of a Greater Elemental allow it to ignore clash with lesser elementals and
instead fight them in astral combat.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Well, since I am Shockwave's GM, :), I guess I
should open my mouth on this one....

Great Elementals:
I have come up with the following powers for these guys, and
a while back I posted them with no opposition, so I guess I
will reiterate-

1. They can clash with a number of elementals equal to their Force
before they go poof. So basically, take Force^2 and that is the
number of Force points they have before they go. Every time
they are reduced by -force- points, their overall force drops.
So basically a Greater Form Force 4 Fire could clash with up to
4 'lesser' water elementals before going poof; however, after the
first 4 points, its effective rating is reduced to 3. A bit of
math, but not too much considering the amount of record keeping
I do, eh Shockwave?

2. A Greater Form can aid sorcery upto its Force times in on Complex
action.... Great for those of you sick enough to try to stack
spells.

3. Likewise, they can also provide Defensive Sorcery for a number of
people equal to its force per service. (Think this one should be
in the boooks, so I penciled it into mine. :) )

4. Lastly, I think these suckers *should* cost more to summon; but
since I am a Poli Sci Grad student who HATES economics, I'll leave
it up to someone else to figure out.

Btw, Does this mean we are going to see your buddy Archangel conjuring
Greater Forms in the near future Shockwave?

Well, it's been fun, but it is close to 2am and I still have to compose
my notes on Weber for my Pro Seminar, so g'nite all.....

SO, basically, if I am understanding this correctly, a Force 4
fire elemental could potentially clash with a total of 4 force 4
waters, 3 force 3 waters, 2 force 2 waters and another force 1
water? Can I say eeeew! At first I thought you meant that if
a force 4 norm clashed with a force 4 greater, it would drop
to force three (it being the greater and the normal being gone).
I am not sure I agree with this one because of game balance.
A force 4 can clash 10 times, a force 5 can clash 15 before it
goes poof, and maybe its just me, but that scares the drek out me!
Granted, some of you may be thinking thats the point of an elemental,
but look at the amount of power it takes to get rid of the things.....

Hmmm, I dont know about this one either. I tend to think the
physical damage and astral quest to get the suckers is a big
enough price to pay. But, these are my humble opinions as one
of the other gm's of the group.

Would anyone else out here on the net care to comment on Minotaur's
ideas?
