Greetings everyone

One of my friends told me about this ShadowRun list, so I thought I'd sign
up and see what it was like. :> I've seen some of the other peoples
questions and I have one of my own that came up during a game I was gming
with my buddies...he was playing a mage and for some reason he asked if you
could see the moon from astral space, and it stumped me. I cant' remember
reading anything about it anywhere in the book.

can anyone help me out here? ta :>

Yes. As long as he has clear line of sight. It would proabably be really
bright too. Assuming the moon has it's own Manasphere.

Whee, boy, that is a GM-to-GM, physophical question that draws into
question the nature of astral. I suppose the I would have to answer "yes",
becuase the moon, like all bodies of matter, does have a resonance in the
universe, but my own views differ greetly from SR.
Although, his astral body's current location's physical counterpart would
have to have a line of sight to the moon.

I'd say probably not. Beyond the earth's Gaiasphere, space is a level 10
astral warp, placing a target number penalty of +10 to astrally perceive
anything through it. The moon would be very hard to see through this vast,
terrible darkness.

Sure, why not. After all we see the moon because of light reflecting
off of its surface. The same way we see walls, even in the astral.
However, it would be just an image and definately not an attainable
destination.

I honestly don't think you'd be able to... magic is contained within the Earth's
manasphere (if that's the correct terminology- I'm working off of Mountain Dew at
nearly 3 am here). Once you leave that little area, magic doesn't work any more. I
think it'd be an opaque dome around the world to those looking toward it through
astral space. But it is merely my opinion...

Greetings all,

Ive been playing SR since the 1st edition, recently
picked up the 4th edition and have been collecting
some of the 3rd edition books I skipped over during
their initial print runs.

For some time I have been reading the Dumpshock forms
but as of yesterday (01/24/2006) I can no longer seem
to connect to that part of the website. Anyone else
having that problem?

Thanks for any help regarding the forums as I really
enjoy reading them.

Peace now.

As I understand it there was a power outage in the part of the country
the Dumpshock servers live, and that the admins are working on getting
them rebooted and reset.
