Subject: [GridSec] Recent personal Attacks on list.

There have been a number of personal attacks on list lately. This is NOT
what I like to see returning from GenCon.

I don't give half a rat if you disagree with whatever post, novel or rule,
you leave the personal slams at home. This includes bashing the author(s),
artist(s), and editor(s) for whatever reason. You don't agree with
Soandso's work/post/art for whatever reason, fine discuss that. You do NOT
cross the line of criticism towards personal insults. I'm certain everyone
here doesn't like that treatment for themselves.

End of personal attacks/slams/insults/flames.

A couple of thoughts about critical comments and effective civilized discourse

While an idea may be completely idiotic,
The person that made it is never an idiot.

People generally do not hear anything after the insult.
No matter how compleing you arguement is, it is wasted
because they do not hear it.
This is very often the case with third parties also.
So if you want to make your point, don't make personal attacks.


Working off line, and then reviewing messages in the que before sending
can reduce later regrets
