I just checked the subscriber list, and pretty much everyone who is on
hotmail has had their list delivery disabled. Due, no doubt, to a server
that went down at hotmail or somesuch.

This is something that list software this list runs on does, and to be
honest, it's a good thing it does, or the Admins would have their listboxes
flooded everytime some's mail server goes down. Especially with the way
some people send out 12 mails to the list at a time.

If you for some reason stop gettingm ail from the lists, go to
http://jackpoint.org/mailman/listinfo/ and choose the list you are
wondering about. Follow the instructions to see what you have set for your
account, and just change it back to email, once you are CERTAIN that mail
will no longer bounce.

You couldn't have tried too hard to let GridSec know, since this is the
first I have heard of it, and this particular subject has been covered by
numerous people on many occasions. I didn't realise it was such a difficult
thing to go and check out what options were available for a mailing list.

According to Dvixen, at 23:24 on 26 Apr 99, the word on
the street was...

Same here.

It is difficult to check if you don't know where. Like, if you've been set
to NOMAIL _before_ it was pointed out on the list how to check your
settings -- which only came up last time someone mentioned not receiving
anything from the list, at which time it's obviously not going to help.

Ditto :-/

FWIW, GridSec can help you with subscription commands (how to
subscribe, unsubscribe, check or change your settings, etc) but that's
it. If there's a real problem with your subscription you need to
contact Adam or Mark.

I did check my options setings (in fact I checked them before I sent
anything to you folks on the problem). I found that the settings where
correct (at least as far as the web page that came up with my account
info was concerned) that is when I sent GridSec a farely detailed
message about no longer receiving mail from the list and the steps I
had taken to find out what was the problem. I recieved no reply to my
message so I resubscribed from a different email address. You are
correct in that I did not send GridSec any more messages after the
first since I figured you folks were working on it and would get back
to me when it you had it fixed and did not want to make myself a
nusence since I was not severly inconvienced because I was getting the
list mail a another address.
