What has happened here, is someone who has your email in their contacts
list, has been infected. Chances are you are not infected, but run a
virus scan and make sure your OS and email are up to date to be safe.

This person appears to have me in their contact list as well, and I can
assure you, I'm definitely not infected. (For your amusement, the
subject line in the email attributed to me is "Japanese lass' sexy
pictures" I want the pics!)

Judging by the frequency of infected emails that have been filtered into
my Quarantine, I'd say a new (or old, to be fair) virus has just made
the round with some people who are dumpshock.com readers or fans.

Now. Everyone repeat after me: "I will do what Dvixen says, or fear the
wrath of the rabid woodchucks"

Run a virus scan over your machine.

http://mcafee.com and http://symantec.com both have reliable online
scanning, and Symantec has a very good free
http://security.norton.com/default.asp?langid=us&venid=sym one anyone
can use. Many recommend Housecall
http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_pcc.asp, but I've
discovered that it doesn't scan all your files. (It seems to have issues
with partitioned drives, I have about 1k files on one particular drive,
it scans one, and then stops)

If you run windows, go visit Windows update. (You can find the link in
your IE browser, or on your start menu.) Apply ALL the updates and
hotfixes.

Visit this page until no more updates show up.

Repeat the process for Outlook, Outlook Express, and/or Office.

Continue visiting the update page until no more updates show up.

If you don't have one already, put a firewall on your machine.
http://zonealarm.com is my preferred choice.

Sit back and relax knowing that I'm not sending the woodchucks to feast
on your eyeballs for being the umpteenth person to send me an infected
email.
