The easiest way to stop it is to stop replying to it. Don't
clarify, don't explain, don't elaborate, don't seek to make your views or
standpoint known, don't even bother to apologize. Simply walk away. I
know how hard that can be, especially when you feel like people have
misunderstood you, but trust me; it's better in the long run to just let
it lie, and it is by far the quickest way to kill a thread.

:: sighs:: Thank you. You know, I'm partially responsible for this all
getting OT in the first place, with my rants, and I tried to respond to the
thread when I felt it was justified but I've watched the list over the past
hours become dominated by people all jumping onto the defensive about a
personal subject, and so, as some of you may have noticed, not gotten
involved. It comes down to this-- everyone's got a different belief and no
one's wrong. Please, let's just leave it at that and get on with the
games...and I do apologize for perpetuating an OT thread to start with.
