| Grimoire II, page 110, summary:
|
| A mage casting a spell opens a conduit into astral space to draw power
| through into the physical plane. He then creates a bridge bewteen his
| aura and that of his target. The spell energy travels down the conduit
| into the mage, then from the mage to the target.
Sorry, my fault, I wasn't clear. I understand the concept behind casting a
spell and I understand the arguments for grounding through a spell *just*
as it is being cast (but not the arguments saying it *can't* be done, other
than the argument that nowhere does specificaly say it can be done). What I
meant to question is the arguement that a sustained spell cannot be
grounded through because it has no link to astral space. If it *has no link
to astral space*, than where is the energy for the spell coming from? Is it
coming from the mage that's sustaining the spell? Is the spell self
contained and the mage only has to maintain the "pattern" after initially
gathering/pulling the energy from astral space?
At least that's what I think I was asking :)
