I could be wrong (could be, but am not) but the last time I checked it was
not illegal to own or carry a firearm in Shadowrun. All you have to do is
possess the proper permit.

The average man can own and carry a pistol, rifle, or shotgun, as long as the
have the proper permit and do not "threaten" people with them. Of course you
can't have automatic weapons, but seeing one of those is generally threatening.

Lisenced Security, Governmental, or Professionial (Mercanary) organizations
may possess, carry, and even use fully automatic weapons in SR as long as they
are not breaking the Law and are going about their business.

So remember, that Gun Control in incremental. The law, today or in SR, does
not bar you from bearing arms in general. They just limit which arms you are
allowed to bear in the interest of state security.

I'm playing in a run now where Seattle has temporarily banned ALL
non-essential, licensed, gun carrying. I lost a special heavy pistol made
for my troll, Rasch, at the airport when we returned from Chicago. It sucked.

Here in the US we are supposed to be able to control this increment. Guns
are cool, but the more deadly ones should be incredibly tough to get.

Damn, does that mean no more ThermoNuclear devises under the long coat
of the particularly Physco Street sam. (Subtle attempt at humor, weellll as
subtle as you can get about Tac-Nucs.)

A'Deus.
