Well, usually any gun that has the 'P' in the legality code is legal. You
just have to get a permit. Same goes for ammo.
To quote one of the books,
"I'll take the smartlink Ak-98 and some AP ammo. Just in case someone that
breaks into my home decides to hide behind the fridge, of course."

As for getting said permit, I think the rules might be written in
Shadowtech. Maybe.

True, but I was more thinking of a discussion about how the general public
feels about the kinds of guns available on permits, how many people actually
use their right to own a firearm with a permit, and so on.

Heh. I bought the Underground rules last weekend, and in the first chapter
noticed a type of crime that I'll probably be introducing my players to at
some point: using a rocket launcher to shoot the wall out of a house, then
rushing in and grabbing what you can :)

They are, and they're in SR3 as well.
