I don't feel embarrased, I don't see why I should.

>I dount very much you would have said "what are you boys going to do?"

Well, maybe I wouldn't have said it, that doesn't mean that if I had, you
_wouldn't_ have been offended. Oh, and I only said "you girls" once, not all
of the time...

You must be thinking of me as some women-hater or something. What do you
want me to say? Why I grouped three female characters together in one group,
I thought it was a nice idea at the time. It might not have been politically
correct or whatever (you won't find me caring about that anyway), but it
looked interesting to me. There was absolutely no idea behind it of "women
are weak, let's put them in a group so the male runners can save them." As a
matter of fact, you were probably more capable of handling yourself than the
"studs" (as you want to call them) in the same PBEM. Because of the very
slow response times in the group you were in, you just weren't able to find
that out...

I don't. I try very hard to mix up genders, skin colors, and races all the
time. As I said in an earlier post, sometimes the result is that it all gets
lop-sided exactly the other way than it is in RL.

IMHO it's probably that idea in the back of your head that got you to see
that PBEM the way you do. I never, repeat: never, had any intention of
making it even seem the way you perceived it to be.
*self-analysing mode on* Maybe it's my trying to treat men and women equally
that turns it all upside-down...

You already had done that. If I had been aware of your previous experiences
(problems?) with playing female characters, I wouldn't have set up that game
the way I did. If you want to give it another shot, I'm game...

Exactly my idea.

I know. You were about the only one who responded regularly...

I think I made a grammar mistake here... "Wouldn't" should be "would"
I think...

Hmm, I don't think this has to be a "Me vs You" kind of issue. I
think we probably have the same opinions on most things, from
what I've heard you say. I'm not intending to "fight versus"
you in any way, shape, or form. We're having a discussion.

I brought up that game because someone asked me if I'd encountered
any other problems in playing SR as opposed to AD&D. Your game was
one of the examples. But in that case, the problem was resolved
at the time; I protested, we discussed it, we worked out the
misunderstanding, and I considered the issue dropped. Which is
why I didn't say, "Oh, GURTH ran this game and we were all girls"-
because I felt that whole situation was resolved, and I didn't see
a need to bring it up for discussion. I only used it as one example
of another time when I had a problem when playing a female character.
Perhaps I should have included an addition: "This happened, but the GM
was very reasonable about it". That might have been better.
I wasn't re-accusing you of anything, which is why I didn't
mention it was your game and was rather surprised when you did.
And unfortunately, if this -is- going to turn into a "me vs you" kind
of thing, then it's really not going to be SR-related, hmm? Maybe
"Gurth -and- Eve on gender in PBEMs" would be better.

Congrats, by the way, on thoroughly spamming my mailbox... *boggle*
