Hey everybody. I just picked up a copy of Harlequin's Back the other day and
looked through it. I've never tried one of the predesigned runs or campaigns
but I'm seriously considering getting this one to put my runners through
because it looks pretty decent. Anybody work with this one before? How hard
is it to GM? What kind of skill rating level would you say it's at?

it's a challenge, though you can adjust it some to suit your
player's needs. run them through harley, first, to really whet
their appetite and properly set the frustration level...::grin::

Well I can't speak for the difficulty of running it, but it was murder on
our group. We lost several 200+ karma characters in the first few scenes
and it went down hill from there. We enjoyed the adventure, but if you go
full tilt expect some bloodshed.

I ran it a while ago for my group of players; it is probably the hardest
game to die in because the GM can just choose to have you appear in the next
metaplane.

Things to watch out for; The horrors at the partially completed bridge are
incredibly powerful; by rights they killed off all the PCs, but I had
Harlequin save them. The uber bad guy in the post-apocaliptic Seattle has a
stupidly low willpower, everything was just getting really nasty when an NPC
shaman manaballed him to oblivion with very little effort. The players
_will_ step onto that island which kills men. Everyone but everyone has no
ballistic armor in the Fist Full Of Karma world; shotguns all but guarantee
a kill.

As for the other worlds, they provide a lot of fun for the GM; in The
Impossible Dream I had the players meet David Bowie, who was eating crisps
and watching videos of them. A player did pull his own eye out for "the
truth" and by the end they were begging me to let them take Todie home with
them.

All in all, I recomend you run it.

Phil

<snipt several replies>

A thousand thanks all who replied on this one. Though it seems like it will
be quite a challenge to the players (actually I, the evil GM, LIKE this
part!) it also seems like a buttload of fun! Between all I've heard on here
and of course noticing myself something about a timeline involving Lancelot
and the whole Holy Grail party it seems like a real definite plus to
purchase. (also if I can come up with the funding by the time I finish with
this campaign this fits in nicely with a campaign idea I'd had myself
involving different gaming worlds...Deadlands, etc...)
