hello,
Being new here I have a question. What's the big deal about the
pictures? Is it because it proves that those two have been around for a long
while or have I missed half the conversation.

The 'big deal' is that I am starting to question my sanity. I'm convinced
i saw reference to a thorn lady painting in H: Counterstroke -but maybe
I'm wrong (gawd, do I wish I hadn't left my H book at home! :)

yep, there IS a picture of an elven lady in Jenna's house and it looks
almost exactly like her, with one exception...the thorns (this ring a
bell to any of you who play another well-known FASA game? it sure got ME
suspicious...)

i have the H source at home so when i go home tonight i shall check
for you digital mage

to answer the question first asked this conversation was started when
i refered to a picture that there is a reference to in one of the
books it is of a picture of an elf whose skin has thorns growing
through it.

this refers to a proposed cross over between the shadowrun and
earthdawn but has escalated into bashing elves in general, elven
conspiracies, and the point of immortal elves <cue you enterance into
the aurgument>

i think you can possible get the digests of the discussions from the
listserver

The thing to remember here is that the Harlequin module, in which the
pictures referred to above, are found in, was published _before_ all this
immortal elves stuff started. H was the start, actually. The pictures are
there to show to players who keep their eyes open, that these people are
much more than they seem to be...
Of course a few years later, the Tir Tairngire sourcebook was published,
and anyone who didn't have his head in the sand noticed these things
anyway, but not back when Harlequin originally came out.
