Actually it's a picture of a 17th century French nobleman and a lady in
Spanish dress, 15th century. The first is recognizable as Ehran, the
second as Ariel Nasir. The Ehran picture also appear in the house in
Amazonia in Harleuin: Spiritual.

In the Tir Tairngire sourcebook, one of the insiders says he saw a picture
of the female Prince, all covered in Thorns, ala the Thorn Elves of the
Blood Wood. That's the reference you're thinking of.

Just to decide whether I really am going mad or not, can someone please
look at a copy of Harlequin, and see if there is a description of an
portrait of an elven figure with roses and thorns around them, or through
them. It should be in the coastal condo in Counterstroke. Maybe I am
wrong but I'd like to set my mind at rest and I don't have my copy of H
with me at Uni (its at my parents' home :(

You can keep your sanity intact. Yes there is a reference to a
picture of a woman with thorns. I remember that our GM mentioned it
and we actually encountered the painting in Tir when we
interuppted Jene Neferras attempt at undergoing the ritual of the
thorns. (we where raiding a supposidly high security prison.)

I had been looking though H when I wrote that there were portraits of
Ehran and Ariel there. I have the book open before me now, and I can't
find anything about a thorn-painting. Mayb you are going mad :)

BTW, I do notice something odd about monetary converison rates: on page 78
it says "That's UCAS Dollars, chummer. See the Neo-Anarchists' Guide to
North America for a conversion, or assume ten dollars to every nuyen." I
don't know about you guys and girls, but everywhere else I've seen money
conversions in Shadowrun, the nuyen was worth about _five_ UCAS dollars...

no, you are not going mad, but the thorns reference is in the Tir
Tairngire sourcebook. Once when talking about the painting that the
lady had (can't remeber her name), and once when talking about why
one of the princes had separated from his wife. (She had used magic
to create a wonderful garden, unfortunately including roses, and he
destroyed it with his own magic, without telling her why....) :)
