I think it would be an excellent idea if FASA re-printed (and maybe
reformatted) it's older books for 3rd ed (and fans in general).
Harlequin and it's sequel were the two best modules ever made- period.
If FASA consolidated them into one big book, they could make a lot of
money- and even sell them at a decent price (for them, anyway).
When I suggested this to them, however, I basically got the
proverbial nod and smile.
If I see an extra copy of Harlequin laying around, I'll keep ya in
mind.

Seriously, though, if anyone has access to OOP adventures and modules,
let me know. There's a lot I'm interested in getting.

Once again I'll ask why FASA doesn't just format the out of print
sourcebooks, adventures, and the like and post them on their website. I
mean, it's not like they're still making money on the books - why not
actually do something for the gamers? Hell, I know dozens of people who'd
volunteer to do the job for free.

It's times like this that makes it worth while to be a gaming junkie
and getting the stuff when it hits the shelf, even if I am not sure
when or where I am going to use it.

I suppose you mean SPARE out-of-print adventures, right? Because I've got
every SR adventure FASA published (yes, including Harlequin and Missing
Blood) with the exception of Missions and RA:S (and both are on the way
*crosses fingers*) but I only have one copy of each, so I'm not going to
sell them to anyone...

The best advice, I think, is to keep your eyes open wherever second-hand
games are sold. Take your time to look at all the books in the bins, and
if it's at a con, try to be there early so it's unlikely somebody else has
already bought their only copy of [fill in the blank] before you got
there.

It probably has something to do with agreements made with the
authors/artists. Perhaps Steve Kenson or Jak Koke could shed some
light on this.

I guess I'm lucky up here, my local game stores still have some of those bug
city books in stock, the Harlequin ones, the Denver box set, and just about
every other book you guys have mentioned. I guess I might just go out and
buy them after all. Only problem I have is finding a group to play with.
Any one on the list from or around Peterborough Ontario?

Man, you think I don't do that?

The problem is, Sydney doesn't seem to be the kind of place where those
things turn up. There's only one store I know of that I've EVER found
any OOP Shadowrun stuff (DNA/DOA and Dragon Hunt adventures and a nice,
hardback copy of SR1 - that one was a real kicker, seeing as how I
joined the game after SRII came out and it only cost me $15), but even
that isn't exactly 'regular'.

So let me repeat myself. If anyone has any SPARE copies of OOP Shadowrun
products, or knows a good place to get them from, get in touch with me.

When someone (Erik J?) suggested something similar, he got a response
along the lines of "We want to keep our options open" which I'm guessing
means:
1) they might re-print them in the future;
2) they may include them in a Earthdawn-esque CD-ROM (Erik J's idea?);
3) they may release sourcebooks that revisits/updates the material in
some of those sourcebooks (Like "Predator and Prey" and the SR3 GM Screen
did for the Paranormal Animals books);
4) they may post them to their website later if they decide against any
of the above options but are currently postponning a descision on the
matter for whatever reason (lack of time?); or
5) they're not going to do anything with the OOP material but don't want
to say so.

All of which is just idle speculation so don't take it as anything else.

I may/may not be able to get my hands on not one, but SEVERAL copies of
the original Harlequin adventure if anyone's interested... I'll check in
a bit, and then I'll let people know.

4 extra copies of Harlequin? Is that all? Want me to have Dowd sign
'em for ya, too?
The jest of my above comment, I had hoped, set a facetious (thanks,
Adam <g>) tone. i.e. don't hold your breath.
And don't forget about rec.games.frp.marketplace

Be glad you _have_ a game store... I don't suppose travel is an option?
Nearly all of my second-hand, out of print stuff was found at various
conventions I've gone to.
