Who is Harlequin anyway? What's the Harlequin stuff? I've read somewhere
that the adventure "Harlequin's Back" was one that a lot of people were
looking forward to. I also recall hearing a rumor that Harlequin is the one
that posted as "The Laughing Man" in VR 2.0 and the Aztlan Sourcebooks.

Harlequin is *the* shadowrun module. Actually several interlinked adventures
to be played interspersed with other adventures.

Eventually the players start to realise that the adventures might be linked
in some way, but never know when the next linked adventure is going to be.

Harlequin himself is one of the figures in the background, hiring the party
and (sometimes) stearing events.

That's all I'm saying. Let's just say it's well worth getting (or if you're
a player, it's well worth your GM getting)

Yes, Harlequin is an excellent module and is highly recommended. HB is also
good for _certain_ types of campaigns. I was going to do a little write up
on Harlequin, but instead you should probably play the modules (assuming
your a player). If you really want some info on H, you can e-mail me
privately. I am missing some info that others might have (like the Tir books)
but I can provide enough enlightenment that you won't be confused reading
these posts.

Harle...Har.. *nasty semi-liquid sounds*

Sorry, I just can't say that name without retching. "He" is Shadowrun's
plothole. If something needs done that just can't be explained in a
rational matter, then it gets done because he was involved (and is therefore
fully acceptable).

He's also a member of the Elven Illuminati, which nets him a few more points
in the "hate" column from me.

The Munchkin King is a 4th World (as in Earthdawn) elf who can do pretty
much anything he wants just by thinking about it, knows everything there is
to know (while refusing to divulge any of it to the poor unknowing/unworthy
masses), and generally makes himself a pain in everyone's side.

Personally, I think it'd be great if he was stuffed and worn by a dragon as
many people would wear a tie silk. He is rather colorful after all. And
think of the compliments the rest of the lizards at large would pay...

But I digress, lots of people love the creature. Lots more than hate him,
that's for sure. So take this with a grain of salt.

[About Harlequin]
>He's also a member of the Elven Illuminati, which nets him a few more points

Um... no, he isn't... he doesn't like the Tir (either one), and has as
little to do with them as possible.

>The Munchkin King is a 4th World (as in Earthdawn) elf who can do pretty
>much anything he wants just by thinking about it, knows everything there is

*sigh* The 4th World elves are people like anyone else. They have their
ambitions, their drives, their desires. They are FAR from omniscient, and
far from omnipotent (though they ARE tough). Further more, as far as they
know, the Horrors are still thousands of years away, and aren't a threat
yet. The recent revelation is still too recent for them to have adapted
their plans.

Okay, so they might want to rule or dominate the world. Big deal. So do
lots of people. OTH, they haven't tried to conquer the world with magic,
have they?

>Personally, I think it'd be great if he was stuffed and worn by a dragon as
>many people would wear a tie silk. He is rather colorful after all. And
>think of the compliments the rest of the lizards at large would pay...

*smirk* Not many. The indications are that H wasn't involved in the
dragon hunts the elves performed, so dragons as a whole don't have any
real reason to loathe him, and given that your average 4th World elf is
as tough as a great dragon, and that H is stated as being the most
powerful of the lot, I can't see a dragon killing him.

>But I digress, lots of people love the creature. Lots more than hate him,
>that's for sure. So take this with a grain of salt.

*shrug* You don't like him, don't play him.

I didn't know it was out of print. I'm sure there must be a few second hand
dealers with it though.

It'd probably be quite easy to find at conventions.

Or you could try putting a WTB on rec.games.frp.marketplace if you have
Usenet access. Althugh you'd be facing some stiff competition. Harlequin
and HB are both pretty hot items.

I think there are a few second hand dealers over here in Britain that do
mail order.... I'll try to find the address.
