I like the idea of multiple castings with the +2 cumulative TN.
(Use that mana, Take that drain, use that mana, take that drain :)

As for the vehicle with bod 6 armor 3 being shot by a 8M AK97 with 6
successes (I think), here's what I think.

Target has a barrier rating of 9 (6 for bod 3 for armor) and is a hardened
target. So the power of your attack should be -1 and the wound level
should be L. The bullet cannot hurt the vehicle because it couldn't
overcome the barrier rating.

That's even with 6 successes.

If your AK is on burst fire then you damage code will have a power
of 2 (11 - 9) and the wound catagory will be D. (L base +2 levels for
four extra successes(Remember one success to hit leaving one odd success)
and +1 more for burst of three bullets)

The Vehicle will resist 2D with 8 dice. (6 for body 2 from armor(half the
rating rounded up, I think))

It'll probably take a light wound.

This is incorrect. When dealing with barriers, you compare the *base* Power
of the weapon to the barrier rating. It doesn't matter how many rounds you
fire; they can't penetrate this particular vehicle's armor.
