Huh? Without mages in your group, you can't shadowrun for peanuts.
So healing is No Problem, and free. So unless you lose completely
(or can't gather up the wounded), dying is rare.

As far as I know, the healing spells will heal Deadly wounds (we have
local rules mod.s that make this more difficult to impossible, depending
on the amount of overflow damage), so your group's mage can "raise dead".

(We also adopt a 1hr time limit on Treat Wounds, and a 24hr limit on Heal
Wounds.)

Dieing is rare if you don't take tons of overflow damage :)

Remember that each box of overflow damage has to be healed. Top that off
with a Deadly drain level and your mage will reduce the dieing sammi's bed
rest time down, but won't be healing him totally.

The Golden Hour rule is standard for the Treat spell. As for Heal, there is
not official rules, but 24 hours doesn't sound like a bad one.

Ever tried healing a sammy with 1 essense? Target number 9? You're not
likely to get more than 2 successes. So if your sammy is two boxes over
deadly... Even if you do get fixed up, there's still the problem of organ
loss... I'd rather lose a drone and have to pay 10000 nuyen to get a new
one than have to spend 20 days in intensive care waiting for my new liver to
grow. Thats assuming I even make it out with most of my body left.
