Hi folks!

I've been lurking for a bit to see what's going on, and I just thought I'd
pop up and say hi. So, erm, hi.

I'm a long-time player from the good old days of 1st and 2nd edition who's
running a new campaign with 3rd edition. Damn, I'd forgotten how much fun
Shadowrun is!

But, I havea few questions.

1) Is there a list FAQ? As a long-time subscriber of the Traveller Mailing
List I know that some lists have topics that you just shouldn't bring up, so
I'd like to know what they are. Incidentaly, if you want alugh pop up[ ontot
he Travller Mailing List and ask about Pirates attacking with Jump Torpedos
and Near-C Rocks - and watcht he fall out! ;-)

2) Is there any writeup of the reasons behind the changes they made to soem
of the aspects (non-rules maily) of SR magic? The astral space presence of
living auras is different, and a lot has been rejuggled. I like what they
have done and I'm curious what sort of reasons they had.

3) Does anyone know where I can get copies of (wait for it - and don't
laugh) Denver, Aztlana nd Tin Nan Og? Gotta complete that collection...

Hope you get to know you all better in future discussion!

Take care,

Shane

On this list, that used to be things like w**dch*cks, t**, and whether
adepts or street sams are better, but traffic has been so light in recent
years that even those are by now welcome diversions from the nothing we'd
otherwise be looking at :(

Most of them, AFAIK, were to clear up confusion about the existing (2nd ed)
rules and to make things more internally consistent.

Second-hand games dealers at conventions are always my favorite for finding
books like this; last time I was at a UK con (GenCon UK 2002, to be
precise) I think I saw copies of all of them -- and certainly Denver -- so
they are still to be found.

www.stiggybaby.com is always a good place for out of print books.
Whether or not they have those three books, I'm not positive. Gencon
the past few years has had unopened Denver Box sets IIRC

Except for real world Religion and Magik discusions. Those *always* explode
in a massive fire ball. And, as with any email list, the use of the word
N*zi is a thread killer ;)

Ah, the good old FAB bat debates :) There were some significant
contradictions/lack of definition in 2nd ed SR with regards to astral space
and living auras. Make a net out of living material (FAB filled tubbing, or
living plant material). Drop the net on an astral mage so it traps the mage
between the net and the ground (neither of which the mage can pass through).
What happens? Does the mage's astral form hold the net up? Or does the
net crush the mage, destroying his astral form? Or, is the mage's astral
form squishable? 3rd ed cleared up this an other problems.

And check Ebay regularly. OOP Shadowrun stuff shows up on Ebay fairly
consistently.

What's so bad about Woodchucks?

Heh. Indeed, that's something I've been wondering for a while too... ^^

Besides, you had gotten used to having a number of people under your
stairs at any given time, hadn't you, Gurth? ;)

Of course, RL politics are a big no-no too. Same as everywhere else on
the 'Net...

The short form of it is that you get Dvixen to throw at you a bouncy rubber
ball with a smiley on it.
