Yup, that's my first posting to this list and since I'm a quite
new GM I haff a few questions that may appear a bit... erm, 'basic'. Here
we go...

1. Does the DocWagon contract cover UCAS territory only (or even
just Seattle)?

2. What's the Sensor Attribute good for in the matrix? (don't
tell me to read the SRII book, it sez '...to detect things in the
matrix...', so what are these 'things' ?

3. When shooting a vehicle-mounted veapon, what's the appropriate
skill and what's the TN? (Fixed weapons + turret-mounted ones)

4. The rules say otherwise, but is there anyone allowing
regaining of Karma? If yes, under what circumstances?

...So, simple questions, no big deal, but I need the answers.
It's hard being the only SR GM in town (there are at most 2 or 3 SR
groups in the whole of Turkiye (not 'Turkey', chums). So I've nobody else
to ask or discuss. By the way, who was this guy who wrote the article
about the state of Turkish Republic in 2052? (If I remember right, it's
located posted at Paolo's Web Page or something) Not bad really, but he's been
missing out some points...

O.k., thanx in advance, hoping to contribute with answers as well
in the future... see ya :')+)

I'm not sure exactly what cover you can get, but coverage extends to
'most' of North America at least and Docwagon have equivalents in
some other places. Note.
You won't get cover on corporate turf (exteritorial at least) unless
the owners give permission or you happen to be an employee of said
corp (which gives you the first) High threat response does not
include starting corp wars for you!
The ten minute response time is only valid in very limited areas,
yes you can get Docwagns in some remote parts of the NAN but you have
to use an ordinary phone to ring them up and they might take 30
minutes to arrive [assuming the country gives them clearance for the
helicopter they will have to use]

Telling what type IC is i think, especially in sculptured places this
need not be obvious, but find a decking expert.

Opinions vary but usually gunnery. Target numbers depend on if you
are using los firing (have a suitable mounted camera on gun or at
manning a turret) or if you are using sensor assist - see recent
discussion.

I assume you refer to Karma pool, it refreshes at the start of each
new scene, definition of which is up to the GM <grin>, but start of
each titled section of a FASA adventure or on moving to a
significantly different location (without running firefight) a
vaguely appropriate. Depends on how generous you are.

I use it as the TN for IC to resist any Sensor Programs, but then I tend
not to use the overly complicated Execution Test and then a test to run
teh Program, I just use one test. Check out my WWW page for more info.

Entire world. In many of the novels, people got DocWagon service
in England, Japan, etc...even Hong Kong, which in 2055 is a rotting
cesspool of corruption and violence.

*digs around for NAGRL* A DocWagon contract covers everywhere there is a
DW franchise. So if you buy one in Seattle, then go out to Atlanta and get
shot up there, DW will come to your rescue. DocWagon is not available
everywhere, but most major cities at least have one franchise.

Someone else answer him please, Matrix isn't my favorite territory :)

The Signature of the target is the TN, while the skill is the one used
normally for the weapon plus your Sensor level. This is then modified for
ECM and ECCM etc. but this is the basic procedure. Oh, and pedestrians
have a Sig of 8.

Karma Pool is the only Karma you can regain, namely it comes back after
every "scene."

Okay... 'things' are anything. First of all, it's used as the controlling
attribute for Sensor-based programs. Some of these, off the top of my head,
are Evaluate, Browse, and Analyse.

Second of all, it's used to detect objects which are trying not to be seen.
Examples of these are cloaked deckers, and some types of IC. I can't
remember exactly, but it's something like a resisted test between the
Masking attribute and the Sensor attribute to detect something that's
trying to stay hidden.

Welcome to the club dude :)

The contract covers all the planet. The questin is does DocWagon have
assets waiting to look after you say in the middle of the Sahara Desert?

IC, constructs, deckers, etc. If I am not mistaken you practically have
to roll everytime you want to take a peek :(

Gunnery and it depends on your way of targeting, when using sensors
your base TN is the signature of the target. When targetinf optically
well its your vanilla TN of 4.

What do you mean, by regaining of karma ?

ICE, Datastores, other deckers, etc. etc.

Gunnery, Tn is based on range and other mods such as lighting, recoil,
etc.>

if you are not on a vehichle and you are using weapon made for vehicles
of course if it is larger than LMG you use gunnery skill and if you using
LMG and lighter weapons you use firearms BUT you have a +4 TN because the
weapon does not designed to be used from a hunman

And contrary to what most people said uptill now DocWagon is even available
outside UCAS or North America. Aztlan for example has its own franchise
of DocWagon.

The only real use for sensors that I have ever found (and I have looked in
every sourcebook that even MENTIONS Deckers) is found on page 179 of the SRII
manual (or similar pages in Virtual Realities). It basically says that the
only time anyone ever uses sensors is when they are chasing someone.

Then look under the rules for sensor utilities. First you have to conduct
an execution test the make the utility run. In this test, the sensor rating
is used as the target number for the computer system which wants to prevent
that the decker starts his program. I think it's a resisted test, program
rating vs. security-rating and security-rating vs. sensor rating.
