I can't blame Spike for that.
1) It is common list courtesy (on ALL lists) to wait for two weeks or
so to see if a FAQ pops up.
2) The mini FAQ was posted only two days ago.
3) When you join the list, you are mailed instructions on how to
LEAVE the list
4) I'm sure any of us would happily respond to a private email asking
the same question

If this person can't figure it out, it is because he didn't try very
hard.

BTW, you gave the wrong directions...he doesn't want to send it to
the list, if he does, it'll get bounced. He needs to send it to the
Listserv.
