Well folks, I happened to ask a friend of mine who was stationed over in
Bosnia too recently for his own comfort about the Urban stuff, and this is
what he sent back to me. Pay particular attention to the last para. Given
what he says about it, they would NOT issue anything other than woodland,
since it works almost as well in an urban environment...

ya was there. not happily either.... something about 2
world wars being started there as well as a deep
abiding dislike of folks that wipe each other
out...just for the fun of it. not very sensible folks
over there.
unfortunately we didn't get urbans issued to us -
would have made too much sense. the only ones that get
them issued on a regular basis are the SRT guys
(Special Reaction Teams - SWAT). I managed to snooker
out a std urban floppy hat outta those guys though.
but I can aswer the second part a bit better: there
are 2 patterns. The first (standard) is mid-tone grey,
black and bright white, the second (subdued) is better
in that the colors are "faded" - there are 2 patterns
of the grey and a dirty white as well as the black.
IIRC there is a third, but that is a regular plain
grey (think of sidewalks)all over.
as a side note, the urbans and the regular cammies are
just as effective at night - some study or other
(forget the name) found out that the browns actually
are more effective in twilight/night conditions.
