I thought there was a cloak program, which was a masking utility, natch, and it
was designed to hide you from other deckers? And the scanner program was to
counteract the cloak.

Course, I could be wrong. It's been a while since I read my copy of VR (lent it
to a friend). HOWEVER: The SR novels give examples, many times, of deckers
slipping past other deckers without being noticed, so they are using something
to hide.

Also, how about using a smoke program?? I've just finished "Shadowplay", the
ninth(?) novel, and in that, the main character, Sly, uses a custom smoke which
doesn't affect her at all.

Just my $0.0134 worth (God, I hate exchange rates)
