as far as i can tell these are what the powers and weeknesses of a
Highlander Imortal dont ask me how to put them into the game thou

---imunity to time (this is in every movie and occurs after the first
time they, supposadly, die)

---regeneration(this is givven in every movie and the show)

---they do gain the skills of the person they kill (third movie talk
with chinese guy)

---the sword fighting skill is not natural, must be learned (first
movie)

---they can detect another Imortal within a certain distance, dont ask
me how far (tv show)

---they can't reproduce(all movies and show)

---if a mortal kills an imortal that person becomes imortal (TV Show)

this is all i could come up with hope it helps a little.

Just curious, when was that mentioned? I always that you were an
immortal from birth, no way around it. Supposedly, if you geek the
HI, his Quickening will either go into the nearest immortal, or if
there isn't one close, it'll just ground out. (No, I'm not talking
about grounding into quickenings :-)

And the movie(s). I remember in the very first scenes of the first
movie, Connor's really on edge because he can some way sense Fazeel's
presence.

It's been a while since I saw the TV shows, but at one time (in Paris)
there's this Watcher who kills an immortal (the priest, I think). IIRC,
some episodes later he gets shot and falls into the river. Some more
episodes later again he's still around; that suggests one of two things:
the shot missed/only wounded him and he survived that way, or he got to
be immortal by killing the original immortal.

Well, there was one episode where a bunch of fanatical mortals captured
Roger Daltry (who was playing an Immortal) with the aim of killing him,
because their society had been following Immortals for centuries, and one of
the things Daltry said before Duncan saved him was...

"If you kill me, all that I am will be lost... Wasted."

That implies that if there isn't another Immortal nearby, the quickening
disperses uselessly.

BTW, why do Rock stars think they can ACT?
(Because they can't)

I was quite shocked to see Darius get killed.

A few notes:

If a mortal kills an immortal, nothing happens to the mortal. The Immortal
who was killed's quickening (the energy) goes into the nearest immortal, or
grounds out. The fanatical group of humans were called the Hunters. They
were a split group of the Watchers. The Watchers watch immortals. The
Hunters have decided they don't like immies and that immies are evil, so
they hunt them down and kill them.

The mortal (James Horton) who killed Darius didn't become immortal. He was
shot and wounded and lived. Came back, and then was killed for real. He
could kill Darius on Holy Ground because there's no rule that says that
mortals can't fight/kill on holy ground.

That doesn't seem right. If that were true, and became known, the
HI's would be hunted down.

Why do you people say things like (First Film) when
talking about Highlander? They only made one movie

Highlander III, I've heard, is not all that bad.

All you have to do is forget Highlander II ever happened (apparently).

Not seen it yet, but want to....

Actually, they made 3 films, but IMO, only the first and third were even
remotely related.
Highlander 2 was a waste of good film.
They totally changed the plotline - making the Immortals aliens with an Odd
physiology.

In general it sucked!

Only one Film, of which I have 2 copies. One

If you're refering to Horton, the Watcher who ran his private
deathsquad, filled from the ranks of like minded Watchers, he wasn't
immortal, just damn lucky.
When McCloud stabbed him, Joe Dawson, out of a really misguided
sense of loyalty, got him medical treatment, and saved him.
Later, in France, when Joe, trying to correct his mistake, shot
Horton on his boat, Horton's body fell into the water. He later turned
up hale and hearty, filled with even more hatred towards McCloud and
Dawson than before [I think he was probably wearing a bullet proof vest
or something, and Joe just didn't hit a vital spot].
He finally got his comeuppance, when Duncan killed him, not with a
gun or a sword, but with a pocket knife [I thought it was kinda of
ironic, for the 'Man who couldn't be killed'].
Horton still shows up in the occasional flashback, as his legacy of
evil still survives to make Duncan's life miserable.
Watchers DON'T hunt immortals. They observe and record their lives,
so someday, others may know the true underpinnings of history. Horton's
people, and others like him, are just like any organization; there's
always a few bad apples in the bunch.

Uh, no. As I said, James Horton was just a guy. If you watch the show,
you _know_ he's not an immortal. If he was a). Duncan would know cause
Immortals can sense each other and b). Horton wouldn't whine about
Immortals trying to rule mortals once they won the prize.

This must happen in only certain instances, because I just recently watched
an episode about a group of mortals going arouund killing the HI, and none
of them ever became HI...

I know I've seen the HI's get killed by a mortal, and distictly remember
someone (Duncan, maybe) saying something to the effect of "Why are you
doing this? you don't get anything out of it."

Just my two cents...

No, they made at least three (I've found four separate ones at my local
video store, but I'm not sure what the extra one is).

No. They made three:

Highlander (the first and best, AFAIK)
Highlander 2 (dumb, but I found it entertaining, even if it had nothing
to do with the previous film)
Highlander 3 (third movie, starring Christopher Lambert and Mario Van
Peebles (I think), haven't seen it, it's supposed to be good)

The video store near my house has a fourth one that I could swear was
titled Highlander: The Gathering, or something like it. Haven't seen it
either, that I know of.

Or they believe that's what will happen. After all, the Highlander-style
immortals aren't omniscient, so they may believe that the only people who
can receive the quickening is another immortal, while in fact anyone will
do.

It's the pilot for the series. I thought it was pretty good.
My wife won't let me watch the TV show. She hates it, and it
comes on past her bedtime. She also has a dislike for the
main character, she hates his accent.

I like the show when I get a chance to watch.

Adrian Paul has an accent, and on top of that, your wife hates him? ;)
Most women seem to think he's the best thing since that new sheer bra
that he was selling in a past commercial for Victoria's Secret.

Now, back to your regulary schedule ShadowRN stuff.

You'd have a skrewy accent too, if you changed countries every 50 years or
so...... I've not seen the pilot....

Like the series though, now that it's got past the initial "Duncan meets
immortal, Duncan has trouble with immortal, Duncan kills immortal" bit...

That really was a one formula show at first....

Adding the watchers and hunters was a good move....

Either or both, on occasion, but I don't think either applies at the

You really should be on medication or something:) As i said, I found it
*entertaining*, but the same could be said of many things (Beavis and
Butthead, for instance).

You should really clarify this statement. By most counts, at least three
were produced (this has nothing to do with quality or continuity within
them, there just happen to be 3)

As I said, I haven't seen it.

Reality is only a state of mind:) My reality differs from yours, yours

Actually, there's three, plus Director's Cuts of the

one of 'em at the video store I work at.

Shawn
Haven't seen much of the series, though.
