Okay, just another thought on the laser topic. As I recall, the Ares
man-portable laser has an availablility of something like 24 or higher.
Which means it is REALLY damn hard to obtain. I've been trying since
Fields of Fire came out to get a Ballista missle system, availability 18
I believe, and I STILL haven't gotten one. I've even laid donw some
serious bribes to my contacts. And we use a system where every contact
has their own individual rating to know things or acquire goodies (from
rating 2 up to about 13 I think). So our campaign might have a higher
chance of getting these bleeding-edge tech items. And we have still
found it to be very hard to get those items.

In other words, use the availability ratings for the items. They have
been put there for a reason after all...
