Historically, the first thwap was self-invited by our Fearless
Leader, Robert A. Hayden, back before I first subscribed.
It's currently in Part II (soon Part III) of the ShadowRN FAQ.
BTW, if anybody knows of any really good (but small) graphics I can imbed
in the HTML version of the new ShadowRN FAQ, let me know privately.
