Hey, speaking of HMHVV, has anyone done any runs around a cure for it? (When
asked this by a player who had contracted HMHVV during a vampire hunt, I
said "No, 'because you're moving away in 2 weeks, so I don't see the point
of building what should be a three or four session game around it right now.
And you've only used that character three times, anyway.", but that's all
besides the point)

I would think that any cures would do precious little good, since the person
would have no essence (it having been drained out by the progenitor).

First of all, Yes, to the question itself, we have, we do, and LONG story

Second, OUCH, that was a lame excuse IMHO guy. You could have made it sound a
bit nicer at least.... ;) If it had been me, and I had been feeling
particularly nasty, I would have had that character become "A Numero Uno Mass
Murderer Type" and rampaged to the end. OR, what someone did in the games
here about 7 years ago now...

Offered "the Chance of an Immortal Lifetime" to every single member of the
game group. After working with any/all takers/accepters, I would have smiled
and said..."well, time to come up with a plan for a cure now...at least
'they'll' benefit from it." <ewg>

I think any cure would do precious little good, considering they'd be dead from
a complete and total lack of essence anyway.

Victims of HMHVV are not undead.

And verily, did David Buehrer hastily scribble thusly...

Showing your age a bit aren't you?
(Bit like me reliving my childhood recently by watching a few episodes of

That's a roger. Currently in the little piece of Hell my players inhabit one
of the players found out that I used his background for this bit of evil.
Now as he wrote his father was working on the cure before he was killed in a
lab accident where one of the test subjects broke loose and slaughtered
everything in sight. So I took this a bit farther. Actually my co-gm did all
the ground work for this until I was rejuvenated enough to add more evil to
the mix. As it turned out his father had come up with a "cure" actually it's
a suppressor. Which shuts down the changes the virus has made and let's the
individual continue as normal. Now to make things worse it turned out one
the character in question was a suppressed vamp and he got it from his
mother who was one back when a spike allowed them to flourish in New
Orleans. But when she met his father she wanted to be human again. So the
suppressor was used and things looked good until I decided the HMHVV bug
could be transmitted from mother to child. So all of his siblings were
vampires from birth and inoculated with the suppressor. So right now major
point of the campaign is to find his father and learn the secrets of the
suppressor so they can have a fighting chance against their vampiric nemesis.
