hey all,

I'm reading through Aztlan at the moment, and remembering some people
talking about the "immortal elves/horrors" theme in shadowrun a while
back. did this die down, and less emphasis made, or is it (will be?) an
ongoing thing? what other books are good to read up on the horrors place
in shadowrun (I've got harlequin's back, read book 3 of the Secrets of
Power trilogy - all my library had!) where was it going, or gone,
do people think?

also, I was browsing Herkilmers (sp?) lair, and looking through the
excellent fiction archive (do some of the authors write professionaly?
some of it is superb), and came accross a few short stories by Tom Dowd.
He's the man listed behind SR1, as I recall, and seemed to be chairing the
main SR line...what happened to him? did he move on to pastures new (or
is he still on this list? oops Hi! :-) I can see that Mike Mulvahill
took over the SR line management, but I was curious, as it might be the
Horrors thing was his, and the SR line was moving away from it now he's
not at the helm.

questions, questions. see what happens when you come back to a gaming
line after years away!?

As near as I can put together (having never read the dragon heart trilogy)
Dunk's sacrifice
delayed the horror's approach by a couple of millennia. Remember the
sacrifice on the bridge (Harl's Back)? That was suppose to delay the
oncoming for a few years, but Darke appeared in the Threats Books (which I
have. He's more powerful and can call a couple of horrors in to help him).
They even describe how he has the entire backing of Aztechnology behind if
needed. I think between Threats and the Dragonheart trilogy, they left it
pretty much open.

BTW, It's John Valeu (Navy always puts last name first you know.)

The Horrors were not Mike's thing, no. He wanted to get rid of them, so
that storyline got wrapped up in The Dragonheart Trilogy (officially).
He's still sort of at the helm (I don't really know how he's working into
things, is he an advisor or something?) so it's not likely we'll see the
Horrors come back under FanPro.
