Sorry Minotaur, but he's wrong (but I would LOVE for it to be true. What
the book means is that since you already lost some "meat", then you can
replace some more of it without additional penalties, UP TO A POINT! If
you get the standard street sam "flare-thermo-lowlight" package, (which
individually adds up to .5 ess), then it doesn't cost you any MORE
essence (you still lose the ess from getting your eye ripped out).
But If you got thermo-lowlight-flarecomp-something else, then you would
subtract .5 from the totals, and that is how much MORE essence you lose
in addition to the .*whatever* from the cybereyes.
if you had a package put in your eye that cost .7 essence, and eye
replacement costs .X essence, then you would lose .X + .2 <.7-.5> ess.
