Have you read Snow Crash? I think this is a pretty similar concept, not
entirely the same, but it comes close...
It certainly sounds interesting, but I think you have to explain it to the
players beforehand to avoid the otherwise unavoidable screams of "Where
does it say that?!?!" coming from those same players...
