A while back, like about when i first got onto this group, some one posted
requestiong ideas for a run they were writing. It was about some other
security provider getting the jump on Lone Star with the seattle contract.
well, since reading (well, half reading as yet) the lone star source book, i
have a few ideas. no doubt the person posting before has either had them
too, or already done somethign else, but i'll put them up anyway. I remember
it said something about lone star barely hanging onto its high publicity
full contracts for law enforcement, and that if it lost one, then a domino
effect was likely to occur. Also, it was mentioned that knight errant would
be the company able to step in and scoop up the nuyen, that was "lying
around" after the star was dumped (ie the contracts). Knight errant and the
star are not beyond low blows, so knight errant could be behind the
dastardly plot. Using the other small company as a front (I remember the
concern about the companies origins and backing/finance), ares could easily
have the support and backing to create a small front company to take the
seattle contract. When the other contracts came up, knight errant would be
able to jump in, without having been seen to have set lone star up in the
seattle arena (with the sabotage of the citymasters). the small comany could
later fold, leaving behind no trace of ares, and KE could then haev all of
the stars contracts. Thats as good as you'll get out of me on that topic,
but I have a question: what the hell were the "landmates" that everyone was
talking about? (I think it was landmates)

Well, the whole thing was: Lone Star lost its contract because Olympus
Tech sabotaged (sp?) theire Citymasters during a demo, while Seattle
authorities was being attacked by a bike gang. Olympus used Landmates
to knock them donw, while LS was unable to help anyone (vans burning..)

I have used a personal version of Landmates in my game. While the original
idea from ratinox (R. Pieri) was to make them vehicles, I've used them
as powered armors, that can increase speed and strength, raise ridicolously
(sp?) armor and carry huge weapons. I've made 3 levels of them, the first,
almost the same lookin as the original post, was 3 1/2 m tall, the second
level, was smaller and with a new technology armor (Metaskin tm), the
third level was the size of a human and was the only one without a person
inside. In fact they were high level drones :)

But, Olympus had taken the contract and LM starts to patrolling the town,
they are everywhere, shadow business is heavily hitten. A LS officer
(a player's contact) ask the team to prove that the Citymaster was
sabotaged (he didn't know thet they were the sabotagers :) and while
they are busy in finding a good story to tell the contact, shit start to
happen. Some LM's computer start to crash and (obviously) weapons start
to fire without reason. Innocent people start to get killed without reason,
and the Seattle gov stops all LM activities.

The rest is a helluva fighting between the team and the Olympus evil ones.

Ehm... the story is too much long to be written here without messing
mailboxes....
