Subject: I have (another) question (hope you don't mind)...

I remember hearing from someone somewhere else that there was a Wood
elemental in EarthDawn. However, it was said that the reason it did not
appear in Shadowrun was that it did not convert well. Is this true? Does
someone have the stats for such a creature? Has anyone bothered to do
their own conversion into Shadowrun? It obviously would be associated
with Health spells and the associated elemental adept would be quite
powerful. I'm kinda thinking about popping it on my players...Could
someone give me some idea for the personality of this character? What
are the personalities of the other types of Elementalists? TIA

More likely, since ED came out four years after SR, they hadn't thought of
it back when SR was designed...

Yes, it's in the ED Magic sourcebook, on page 87.

There is though i have not seen it.

Shadowrun is based on the 'modern hermetic paradime' which is based
about 4 elements not five. Wood elementals are probably lost to mages
because of world view, it will take understanding to overcome the
problem.

I don't know, i've not seen any of the ED elemental stats but unless
they finally put them grouped in the magic book i think elementals in
ED are a bit hit and miss.

Certainly health spells, you could probably design it without
convesions actually if you are prepared to add it to your game, but
be prepared for elemental sustianed +3D6 initative spells etc.

are very powerful.

Our shaman once accidently summoned one of those. As for
powerful, they broke half of the spirit rules. It seemed to be a
spirit / elemental combined. I have no idea if this is in the rules
or just a creation of the fertile imagination of our GM. In either
case what ever it was it was powerful. We personally think it was a
dragon spirit from the way that Loftwyer acted afterwards towards the
shaman.

Sounds like it was the fevered imagination of your GM, but it still sounds
kinda cool...:) Now my question is, if we could concievably summon a dragon
spirit, could a dragon summon a Human Spirit...? <grins>

Just being silly...:)
