I am just learning how to game and I could use all of the knowledge and advice anyone can
give me. I don't even have any characters set up yet. I'm usually just refered to as
"MOM" when my husband and his friends play because I tell the guys what to do
when they're being to ignorant to figure it out themselves. (Man, have I built up alot of
carma points for not even having a character!!!!!!!!!)

It would probably be easier for us if you could ask a bit more specific
questions :) "All of the knowledge and advice" is a rather broad area to talk
about, as we could probably write a thick book that way and still not have
mentioned everything... For example, if you have a bit of an idea what kind of
character you want to play, or if there's rules you need help understanding,
you could ask about the specifics of those.

I contacted her off list and found out she lives in one of my old haunts. I
gave her the address of a friend of mine that could help her out better,
given the situation. (He lives in the area still.)

ooh now that sounds like a great idea......anyone got any peoples near
fort riley, ks or manhattan, ks? I could really use some more people for

As the rarified creature known as a female gamer you should not try to be
one of the guys.
You should bring the girl's perspective to the game, no not decorating
tips.
Use sex appeal.
Use your brains.
Play the dumb broad card only when needed but have your character
mentally taking note of who buys the "stchick"

If it looks like a trap it is a trap and if it is not a trap your
character lived another day.

Act like you are always about to be attached, assassinated, kidnapped
without looking paranoid. Use scanners to detect devices, assume you are
being watched, disguises are good they will keep the police from knowing
who you are and the bad guys too, fake ignorance of the language spoken
for people love to speak openly about plans in front of the "dumb"
person, always assume there is security, use electronic scrambling
devices where there is electronic security, encrypt/secure all data/
voice transmissions, if not assume you are being recorded, wear armor,
use the right kind of ammo (I recommend explosive armor piercing rounds,
it will take care of most problems, always have high end encrypted
communications get for you and 4 others (to loan out), use implanted or
external sound filters, flash protection ad gas filtration as needed,
always enter a run fully sealed (to avoid air and skin contact gases),
sterilize sterilize sterilize, leave no evidence.

Remember if the bad guys want you bad enough an astral quest will help
them find you, watcher spirits are better than a ward to protect things,
wards are good to magically hide things.

Use the available technology to greatest advantage, ie. use the white
noise generator for anything that does not involve discussing what flavor
of slushie to purchase.

Trust only those folks who have proven themselves repeatedly. (3 is a
dead minimum)

Have multiple back up plans, escape routes, hiddy holes, and stashes of
money and equipment.

Diversify your skill set no matter your expertise. This will allow for
longevity and the ability to save face/butt under fire.

Know as much as possible in any situation, however do not let on that you
know.

Investigate, investigate, investigate

Record your runs with micro recorders to acquire evidence that might be
needed later (store this very securely) you can sell this kind of thing
occasionally.

Never ever use you real name with anyone that your character would not
have a child with. Keep a long list of fake and street names and IDs.

Test all drinks with a chem tablet.

Decide in advance what kind of things your charcter will and won't do.

Sorry, I only know a couple of people near Ft. Hood and soon a
couple up in New York (My mom's getting transfered up there.) She might
know a couple of people though (FoF's, Gotta love'em)

Somehow I missed this but I know some people in Manhatten, KS... shoot
