Our mage Phoenix ( yes the pyromanic) was initated last night. He
went up to initate level 4. Due to consequences beyond his control
his link to his society had been lost in a previous game and he
didn't have the karma to reestablish it and initate. So he called in
a favour owed to him by a dragon. His initation went along these
lines, he asked that the dragon breath on him (flame him), as the
dragon did this he rode on the crest of the wave of fire through a
portal he created into the plane of fire with no protection what so
ever except his magic. He managed bearly in time to create a fire
shield around himself made of mana. Once this had been solidified he
*frolicked* with some greater fire elementals. (His own use of words
to our characters). This ordeal was rated at T#11 to survive, he
rolled a total 16 dice and was required to get 2 11's to survive. He
managed 2 11's.

This ordeal however did not leave him the same. Apart from
raising Magic Level (to 9), he also received a +2 dice to casting all
spells based on the elemental plane of fire (combat I think), and a
penelty of -4 dice to all water based spells (illusion?).

Our shaman is about to under go his second initation, the ordeal
involves the banishing of a blood spirit that is being used as a
ritual link to him. Those feathered serpants ain't nice.
