Wow, I used to rarely get two digests in a day; now it' becoming
regular...

Of, Magister? A kumquat is a fruit, not a vegetable. In fact for those
who want to know (which is next to none):

kumquat 1. A tree or shrub of the genus Fortunella, bearing a small,
edible, orange-like fruit. 2. The citrus fruit of the kumquat, with an
acid pulp and a thin edible rind.
From the Houghton Mifflin College Dictionary, BTW.

I'm glad to see the flames are dying down... my stock of heat-resistant
ablative tiles was getting low. Kudos to all the apologies. I'll vouch
for Kumquat; I've seen him on before. (And this is my third year on here,
so don't start in on me. :) )

And now for a question to start some interesting discussions, perhaps:
Using the assumption of Rule of Sixes being in effect for initiative
rolls, (my group uses it, so no "You can't do that!" arguments, please)
would you also apply the Rule of Ones to initiative? Why or why not,
and if so, what would be some results of succumbing to the Rule (humorous
and/or fatal. heh ;) )
That should get some interesting responses. Maybe J.D. can even pull
some of it for NERPS... Ain't I generous? :) :)

That's one of the problems with using the rule of six on inititive, you
cannot apply the rule of one as it stands, sinse it was designed with tests
in mind. Anyway, you could rule that if a one is rolled, then it counts as a
zero, or something similar, that way if a person rolls all ones then they
act in the phase equal to their reaction score. You could make them have all
their actions at the very end of the round (though this might be handy - no
CPs left on others :-)). You could give them a +1 blanket target number
modifier for the round. You could deny them to use of dice pools for the
round. You could give them no actions at all. You could have ones count as
minus ones, that way for each one they roll they lose an inititive point.
You could have them lose their first action or lose their last action. Hmm,
not too many humerous ideas there is there, most are rather dangerous. But I
think if you use the rule of six, then you should equally apply the rule of
one.

Using the rule of six in a game make me feel like you'll loose control.

If for example, you (GM) have 3 bad guys. You get lucky and your
bad guys have for initiative 54(wired 3), 31(wired 2) and 19.

In the same time, your 4 players did'nt get so much luck, they rolled
17, 21, 20 and 25(wired 1).

What happen?

Simple, with 3 bad guys youre gonna geek your players pretty fast.

That's my own opinion. So using the rule of six with init give some weird
results.

And the rule of one... One of my bad guys (a troll for example) roll all his
dices and come with only ones... What happen?

He bounces on a garbage can, and fall on his partners making the bad guys out
of action this turn... Sure it's funny but now the players wiil geek my bad
guys... hummm....

I'll try this out and I'll comment further.

See ya.
