One thing that I heartily recommend is converting from a linear skill point
allocation system to a karma point based one. One of the big problems with
SR's character generation system (IMNSHO) is the way you can make six points
count as six karma (by buying six skills at 1) or as 51 karma (by buying one
specialized skill with the general at 4, concentration at 6, and
specialization at 8). You might want to take a look at
