I was playing with some figures before heading to bed so tell me what ya
think.

Essence # of Dice TN = 10 - Wilpower
---------------------------------
0.00001 - 0.05 8
0.05001 - 0.15 6
0.15001 - 0.25 3
0.25001 - 0.30 1

Roll the number of dice vs the listed target numbers if the player is
in a highly stressful situation (GM's discretion of course) or using social
skills (ie. negotiation, etiquette, leadership, etc). If the player is
using social skills reduce the successes from the skill by the successes
from his insanity. In stressful situations the number of successes the
insanity test provides determines the degree of insanity the character is
currently suffering from. The GM should "direct" the next action of the
character based on these successes. If I get a chance I will try to
produce some sort of random action table to cover this.

Well what do you think??

You think I need more sleep. You're probably right ;-}

I think it is a kludge and is just one more thing to have to worry about
and another poor excuse to ROLL-play your character.

No offense intended, of course.

I think the idea of making an insanity is good for lower essense
players.. I had already implemented it.. it just makes sense... if essence
is the measure of your humanity.. RIGHT?

About the question of insanity checks, i must agree. Essence isn't
necessarily a measure of humanity, but a measure of how much of the
character is still left physically. But, I feel that if I lost most of
my body to a machine, I would go nuts! just my humble opinion...

The stability of psyche really is not tied to "humanity". There are plenty
of cases today of people getting so little as a steel pin in their hip or
ankle and that causing them to go into depression and suicide. There are
also plenty of cases of people having major reconstructive surgery and
coming out of it in pretty good shape.

Sanity, lack thereof, and cyperpsychosis should be role-played, not roll-
played. The whole concept was one of the biggest mistakes that RTal ever
made, and now everyone and their brother wants it in their games.

Feh!
