Hello again, my fellow ShadowRNers. Once more, I need your help to drive my
GM crazy...

My character recently found himself in possession of a cybernetic
balance tail (which belonged to his sister, whose murderers he had been
tracking... loooong story). Now, there's absolutely no way in hell he's
gonna get it implanted, of course (one character with this was definitely
enough for me). So I figured that perhaps he could use the parts to make
something useful.
Question is, what? The character being a rigger (with decent
electronics skills), I think that the balance processor's computing power
could be used to increase the responsiveness of an RBB or something in
those lines, but... I don't know, I find that too bland, lacking originality...
So, would you have any ideas on what I could do with it? Don't be
afraid to suggest bizarre stuff. The weirder, the better... Even if my GM
refuses, the look on his face will be priceless. *eg*

Thanks in advance, and merry Christmas!

How about installing this tail into a motorbike or small car?
With some jury-rigging it should be possible to let your VCR
control it.

Say hello to all those bad people following you with this baby.

How about a kind of smart whip or other weapon to entangle people with? Or
you could use it to make a snake-like drone.

Rig it on any drone whose form mimicks the shape of an
animall that has tails in nature.Or put in each
vrtebra a spool of monowire and rig it so it will
stretch the monowire on comand and then wrap around
anything itself on a second comand/when someone steps
into the right spot.

I have read all the replies, and had a thought: build a Mecha <display evil
grin> so far the replies are for small and subtle, so I thought I would be
the one for large and blunt :D. Now I am not talking about a building
sized Battle Mech a la Battle Tech, but perhaps car sized..... ;)

Scorpion assassin drone. It crawls along power cables with remarkable
balance then zaps the target with a tail stinger of some sort. The perfect
ironic revenge device.

A troll character of mine once mounted a dwarf's cyberarm onto his motorbike
in order to give rude gestures while jacked in.

Something that might work, and should make your GM cringe, how about using
it as a recoil compensator, adjust the tolerance so that level is set when
the trigger is pulled and the balance processor won't allow the weapon
outside one degree from true. Mount it on a minigun and it should keep it
on target (a single not vastly mobile target but...) for the entire burst.
Sort of Gunnery recoil adjusters for a man portable weapons system :-)
The tail itself is redundant so mount it on a drone to give a prehensile
limb or with the addition of a short length of monowire and a weight or a
heavy mass or blade it could serve as a melee weapon.
Depending on how the balance processor converted electrical impulse into
physical force I might even consider allowing it for a short time (before
the system was so overworked it died) in my game (although it would have to
be a damned impressive idea, preferably one that I hadn't thought of, could
see working and knew hadn't come from ShadowRN :-) )
