I just finished going throught "Universal Brotherhood: Missing Blood"
(Actually I still have to do solo assualt on one of the chapters house) and the
game got me thinking...

In present day life where in the world would all types of bugs be most
abundent? I'm not look for a name of a place but type of place like the
rainforests, jungles, deserts, and etc.

The weird logic behind this is guess where all these insect spirits are
coming from. I assume that where there is a lot of bugs there will be a lt of
insect spirits.

It depends a lot on what kind of insect you're looking for. "Bugs" (by which
I mean all those little crawly things) as a group are extremely diversified.
You can find them most anywhere. The greatest _variety_ is probably in a
rainforest, and taken as a group, that's probably were the greatest numbers
are as well.

I always figured that insect spirits reside in their own meta-plane, just
like the various animal spirits. Just like the animal spirits require a
shaman to 'bridge' the gap between the meta-planes and the Earth.
Fortunately, since each shaman is predisposed toward his totem, and since
insects don't think anything like humans (at least I hope not) insect
shamans don't show up very often. However, I think that the power of a
totem is based off the total mana of the creatures that it represents so
insect spirits and shamans have access to a large amount of power.
Especially initiated ones.

You wish. Real Horrors would eat bug spirits like popcorn... (Earthdawn
mentions something that sounds a lot like bug spirits as having been
precursors to the Horrors.) If you've got Paranormals of Europe, look up
the wraith. There's a message referring to it as a "Horror" (complete
with capital H, as I recall) from -H-. And that's a minor Horror...

Ah, heck. I'll save everyone without PAE the trouble of asking and go
look it up myself right now...

WRAITH: Body 10, Quickness 12 (*3), Strength 6, Charisma 4, Intelligence 7/7,
Willpower 10, Essence 12(A), Reaction 7, Attacks: Special.
Powers:
Confusion (Zone*2), Fear (Zone*2), Immunity to Pathogens and Poisons,
Influence (Zone*2), Magical Resistance, Magic Sense, Manifestation
Weaknesses: None known
Notes: The wraith acts as a free spirit and so uses a Spirit Energy
Rating(!). The wraith's SER generally starts at 0, then increases by
1 point for _every_point_ (box) (!!!) of Stun or Physical damage a victim
under its influence does to another living being or inanimate structure.
The wraith can have a maximum Spirit Energy equal to twice its Essence.
(In other words, if a wraith can get somebody to kill someone else, it
effectively becomes Essence 22; 2 murders and it's up to 32... Add in a
little random violence along the way, and it can max out at 36 pretty
easily...)

The final entry on the wraith in shadowtalk reads:
>>>>>[Kill these horrors {OK, so it's not capped...} whenever you can.
They
are Evil, if anything is. You cannot reason or bargain with these creatures.
They exist only to feed. They are the future, if we do not stem the tide
now.]<<<<<
-H- (05:41:17/6-JUN-51)

Now THAT'S a Horror! *shudder*

Using the Tir as an indication, probably at least 500 - 800 years, maybe
more. Long enough for the corps to get off world ;-)

Looks to me as though the Nomad in Paranormals of N. America was a
precursor to a lot of the Horror ideas - not as nasty as the wraith, but
feeds on murder just the same.

Actually they are Envai (I think its spelt that way). Mentioned both in ED
and in a FASA release with the Big D and Harliquin talking. And in ED
they were the precursers of the horrors.

Adeus.
