Where does it say that pefect merge can shift from human form to insect?
I would say it can't based on MitS and adventure "Double expousure" where
there's one perfect merge worker who tries to escape the runners but can't
because it is so slow in human form.
On the other hand, in "Shadows of the underworld" there's this adventure
"Dead run" where two insect spirits do it (first female mantis, then soldier
wasp).
I'm confused.

Any comments?

I don't think it does anywhere.

I used to make that same mistake, but a careful reading of the insect
spirit rules made me reconsider. IMO only true-form insect spirits can
manifest as two-meter-tall insects; flesh forms are stuck in the body
they're in, and can't do anything that body won't allow. Female mantis
spirits are still hugely powerful even like that, though.
