hows about instead of this crowbar shooting satellite we use a satellite with a
BIG solar mirror laser or a just a BIG laser with mundo capacitors. With enough
power (an no ammo) the laser would be mighty effective. Either that or I
watched real genius too many times.

how about just shooting a few dozen ceremic coated 'crowbars' they would be
mundo effective. Aslo we are loosing the point - somehting that big in space
would not be used to target vehicles it would be used on buildings and cities.
the flechet one would be really effective on a city.

You have.

Beam weapons will never be as effective as physical weapons, except in
that they don't ahve ammo. Some smoke, some clouds, a mirrror, and
you've suddently defeated the purpose of of a laser. And of those Star
Wars tests that 'supposedly' demonstrated beam weapons destroying ICBM
parts, they've been revealed to have been mostly rigged to impress the
congress-critters anyways.

One Neutron bomb. Kill the living, take their tanks and cities. That's
probably a much more effective philosophy.

Well, a BIG solar mirror laser is an easy target... :) I'd rather put in a
nuclear reactor.

And the whole point of making this thing is to be able to take out lots of
stuff without inflicting "collateral damage". If you want to take out a city,
use a nuke for God's sake. :)

Even if the laser would work, you've got a BIG problem with this set up - it's
quite noticable and would be very easy to disable.

I agree. I think this idea is good for stationary targets of a reasonable size
that can taken out with saturated 'fire'.
