I'm back!!!!!!! Thanx again to Dr. Doom for the explex.
Now what the frag is going on??!???!???!

Last I saw, a heated debate started over the topic of real magick. I
was forwarded a message by Nightfox that said that we should keep it
going. I agree. Though I posted earlier that it should be taken off
board, I was simply fearful of Divine Retribution from Fearless Leader
and Dr. D. Evan though this discussion pertains to magick circa
1994, it's interesting, especially when in just 60 or so years it's
everywhere(skeptics laugh now, soon we will return<grin>). Though
the mechanics are closer to Mage: the Ascension, the same
philosophies and attitudes prevelent today would not change so much
in 60 years. And by studying the past, we prepare for the
future(remember the Ghost Dance was preformed before.....).

In the same string, I asked earlier what would Pagans be classified
magicklly?(Pagan is used for any non-Christian religion containing
nature magicks.) Though some are pure shamans and some are pure
hermetics, what about the rest of us??

By-the-by Nightfox, I know a native-american who will be playing
with us shortly. He is supposed to be subscribing soon. And yes, he
has strong (real) shamanic leanings. (He's Catholic too, Dr.D <laugh,
laugh, cackle, cackle>.

See you in Prime Runners(supposed to be released this month!)

Many people run the shadows, praying that whatever gods they worship will smile upon them.
I waltz through shadows with my gods, and I lead!

Actually, I think Shadowrun comes closest of all "real world" rpgs to
"real" magick, in its mechanics. Though, as I said that last time this
topic came up, it does have a strong Hermetic bias. But I too would
like to see this thread continue. Sorry Whistler, but it IS relevant.

Why, we're classified as...Pagans! =)
The word comes from the latin 'paganus', meaning "country dweller", with
overtones of "hick" or "country bumpkin." When Christianity spread
through
Europe, the nobilty were converted first, while the countryside remained
largely, well....pagan. =)
