Now I don't think this is what it initially sounds like but what is a
NERP, as in a physical object an eight year old boy could have in his
backpack in Denver in 2055??

NERPS pills are a drug in Shadowrun. No-body actually knows what it does,
though it may be an aspirin-like substance or an anti-acid product. In
all likelyhood, it is a placebo.

The name is derived from Nothing Every Really Please Steve/<someone
else>, a quote from the Shadowrun design team.
