...an estimated 35,000 people are expected to show up to the San Diego
Comic Con this August 13 thru 16 (the week following GenCon).

Some of you are surely saying "What the f*ck do I care about some comic
book convention? Grow up and stop wasting my bandwidth!"

To which I reply there is going to be non-stop 24-hour gaming of all sorts
at the Comic Con. I mean really, out of 35,000 comic book fans you're
going to get thousands of RPGers and CCGers there too. Now let me get
*really* serious.

I've been working with an outstanding fellow in FASA's marketing department
by the name of Rett. And as of this juncture, it looks like FASA will be
supporting the official Shadowrun events with prizes and free swag (I'm
pretty sure they'll also be supported Battletech and Mechforce).

As usual, this could drop out and not happen right up until the stuff
arrives at the Comic Con headquarters. But chances right now look very
good that FASA will be providing support to the Comic Con and the Shadowrun
players attending, thanks at least in my part to my efforts.

What's more, Rett may be getting enough goodies rounded up for MY GAME of
SR3(!) that I'll have swag for all my players, not just a few prizes for a
few people.

So for those of you out there planning on attending and especially for
those of you still thinking about it, this is outstanding news. Free stuff
from FASA!! And a game of SR3 *before* your other West Coast buddies even
see it on store shelves!

An added bonus? Jak Koke is apparently planning on attending; his name is
on the official registered list of professionals planning on attending. So
it's possible you might meet the author of the Dragonheart Trilogy, along
with all sorts of other authors and actors.

IF you are interested in attending the Comic Con and especially in playing
in my game of SR3, e-mail me PRIVATELY and let me know. I fully expect to
have all my spaces filled before I even arrive in San Diego, so make sure
to reserve a spot with me if you want to play!

And now, back to our regularly scheduled silliness...

Erik J.

Push the right buttons on the right people and you can make anything happen.
