Hey, did anyone get my message asking for help
translating a couple of words into Japanese?

If so, I guess no one here speaks the language,
because I didn't get any replies. :)

Anyway, I'll try again. I need a couple of Japanese
words translated. Just two. Three at most. Really.

And before you say it, I've looked at online
translators. They suck. Either that, or they translate
it into the word symbol text (that I can't recall the
name of), which also doesn't help me.

So if anyone can help me, let me know, huh?

Hmm... I don't remember seeing the original post myself... if I had, I
mighta said:

"Hmm... you can try the usenet for translations into japanese... in
particular:

japan.lang.japan
sci.lang
sci.lang.translation
sci.lang.japan

Augustus"

Atleast... thats what I figure I woulda said...

Personally, I don't know anything nor do I understand a word of the Japanese
language, but I do have a former colleague who lived over there for a few
years and even married a Japanese.

I still contact him from time to time so if you tell me what you are looking
for, I can always forward it to him and ask him for a more "decent"
translation?

It could take some days before you get answer though,

I did, but I didn't reply to it as the only Japanese words I know are ones
such as "samurai" and "kamikaze" :)

> Anyway, I'll try again. I need a couple of Japanese

I do have a Japanese tourist dictionary/guide, but I doubt that's going to
have the words you're looking for. Still, if no one else can help you out,
let me know and I'll see if there is something in there that might work.

I think I'll be okay. A pal on the list is going to
ask some Japanese professors where he works for
translations - nothing like going to the source. ;)

Course, he just wanted to know first that I wasn't
asking for the Japanese phrase for 'you sleep with
whales'...or something like that.

He knows me too well. ;)

Doc,

My private e-mail is mlfrankl@***.com. I don't speak Japanese but I do have
a dictionary. I find it lacking sometimes, but am willing to give it a shot
if you mail me the words you interested in.

Actually, I remembered the line last night.

"You molest dead whales."

Now, I'm starting to wonder just what it is he REALLY

It's not so much "thinks of" as "knows about." Or rather, "has
built up a
substantial amount of court-admissible evidence about." :)

Dude! Wrong! OK, grab a pair of binoculars, turn around, and look way out
