Martin Hunt (President of U.S. from 2001-2004), who was the one who had a
chance of averting the collapse of the U.S. but was blocked by a stubborn
Congress and a hostile Supreme Court (according to page 79 of the Neo-Anarchist
Guide to North America). If he were the one assasinated instead of Garrety,
then the Kennedy parallel might have been valid. As it stands, Garrety was
just a bastard who got what he deserved (or far less than he deserved).
Garrety's assasination may not be like J.F.K.'s but does anyone think that the
fact that he and other prominent leaders being assasinated around the same time
might be the subject of lots of different conspiracy theories? Or does
everyone accept the fact that the a lot of drek was happening back then and the
assasinations were just a symptom of the general hell that was occuring? And
if there are conspiracy theorists, who are the most likely canidates for being
behind the conspiracy? Or would anyone in Shadowrun even care if there was a
conspiracy?
