Mon Dorph, not too long ago you sent a message to Jim requesting the drafts
for Shadowrun II. Would it be possible to dump them to the list, as I'm sure
that all here are eager to see them? If this is a copyright infringement, feel
free to tell me to kiss off (aw, come on, y'are _real_ runners, ain'tcha?)

Your humble servant,
Smiling Wolf

I got hold of a copy from one of my players who's on genie. It
mentions ad nauesum about copyrights and not posting it to any other
network than genie. Sorry, can't help you.

I will, however, be posting a long and detailed look at the stuff
mentioned that I saw in it. They did a poor job of arcing it all
together, and I had a heck of a time unpacking it. Oddly, I ended up
extracting with a UNIX arc, and even then, about 20% of the combat section
came out corrupt. Sigh...

Yep - if you want the Shadowrun II beta copy, you need to get on
GEnie. That's the only method. And latest rumor says that FASA isn't
going to make their self-imposed GenCon deadline for actually having
Shadowrun II out for the public. <sigh>

However, considering this: when you first get on GEnie, you're
granted the month's fee free. Basically, for you mercenary sorts (of
which I'm one, thank you very much), you can start a new account on
GEnie, go to Scorpia's Games, and download the Shadowrun II betas -
all for free as part of your "evalutation" of GEnie. <grin>

Before you ask, no - I don't know the relevant numbers for getting
onto GEnie as a new account (tossed 'em once I was done.) Pick up a
copy of your favorite computer magazine, and you ought to find one of
their ads...

I've downloaded the Macintosh versions of the files (Word 4 format),
and those archives are fine. The problems with the DOS versions may
be due to the fact that FASA is primarily Macintosh operation...
