I was just wondering what people use for determining jumping ability ...
the FoF doesn't seem to make that much sense ... acoording to FoF (pg
76), you need to have a strength rating equal to twice your body to go
anywhere in a standing jump ... now according to my wt (~180 lbs), I have
a body of 3-4 ... now I KNOW i don't have a strength of 6-8, yet I can
consistently standing jump my height (just under 2 meters). Now, I
realize that this is before taking athletics into account but in all
honestity, I don't think I rate more than a 2 athletics skill rating ...
so what gives? Anybody got a better system?

I hope that you don't mean a vertical jump of 2meters. If you can do that
then the NBA wants YOU

:P I meant horizontally of course ... same as in FoF (in FoF, if you want
to jump vertically, divide your horizontal jump by 4, which gives me a
vertical jump of .5 meters ... sounds about right I think)

Yeah, except that running ads nothing like 1/4 your quickness to your
vertical leap, even though it helps your longjump a lot. Making a single
simple formula for jump distance is difficult- its much easier to get
something "realistic" if you divide body, quickness, and strength by different
factors for each different kind of jump.

Not entirely. I can think of a few high jumpers who might very well
disagree with you. Assume that Athletics covers that from an SR2
standpoint, and it makes sense.
