WRONGO CHUMMER!!!! get a brain and try reading it again, and the rules while
you're at it. if computer is not an active skill (which is a category of
skills, for those of you like flare) then you can't get a reflex recorder for
firearms either, since it is a combat skill, nor could you get one for
althletics or stealth as they are physical skills. There are three main
categories of skills listed in the shadowrun book, ACTIVE, BUILD AND REPAIR,
and KNOWLEDGE skill
Under ACTIVE skills there are several sub-groups :
Combat, physical, technical, magical, social, and vehicle skills. sorry, I
correct myself, above i said that there were three categories,
there are actually Five broad categories: ACTIVE, BUILD AND REPAIR,
KNOWLEDGE, LANGUAGES, and SPECIAL SKILLS. Get a cerebral boost flare.

Now, I retate my question:
Does anyone out there have a character with a computers reflex recorder?
Does anyone have a GOOD reason that this could not be possible?
And yes, flare, computer seems to be an active skill to me. My
reasoning for this would be that how do you usually interact with computers?
Hmmm... keyboard! and some people use a datajack as well. you can use
a computer(or deck) with just a datajack, but it's often easier to use the
keyboard in addition to commands via the datajack... so the recorder would
probably
only assist if you were using a tortiose, or your deck with it's keyboard.
It would not help with pure cybernetic decking... unless, of course, you had the
recorder set up and implanted in your brain along the connection between you and
your datajack, but that would be very difficult and cost alot (body index and
nuyen)..... Have a nice day, and please try to research your answers a
bit or make sure to post that this is your opinion or your house rules...
Thanx.

"Chummer," unless I'm mistaken, I did no capitalize the word
"active"
when referring to skills. What I was referring to is any skill which requires
an action on the part of the user. If you will note, Computer does not. And
to refute your point completely, a "true" (since you insist on misconstruing
everything not in the proper "jargon," then I'll quote around the problem.)
decker uses "cybernetic decking," as you put it. They don't make nearly enough
use of the keyboard to justify a reflex recorder. Also, decking is guided, nay
dependent on thought, and the speed of the decker's thought in particular. NOT
a reflex. Regardless of what you may interpret the "letter" of the law, the
spirit is that is helps people who do something which requires no thought (i.e.
firing a gun).. Since you enjoy jumping to conclusions and on arguments
without doing your own, much-vaunted research, I give you quotes, straight from
ShadowTech.

"Each recorder allows a character to 'learn' one Active [please note
capitalization] or Vehicle Skill (excluding B/R skills) at a +1 die to all
future Success Tests."

Also;
"Recorders can be constructed in two sizes. . . Large masses are used to
augment General Skills (Firearms, Athletics, and so on) while the smaller masses
are associated with enhancing skill Concentrations (Pistols, Jumping, and the
like)."
