And lo, he came before them, with the words of knowledge to share with them,
that they would see a way to design all modes of transportation, from the
lowly chariot to the mighty Battlestar. And, with the divine words, they
would see a way to apply the infinite wisdom of Other Game {tm} to their
own system. . .

I just picked up GURPS Vehicles, and I must say I love it. It approaches
vehicle design the way I think it ought to, the way I think some of us
originally envisioned Kage-Car. Anyone who's contemplating picking up the
threadds of that ex-list ought to at least peruse this book to get an idea
of how to approach things.

Rather than limit space to body sizes, a vehicle can be of any size in
cubic feet, but rated with a body type. You could design 5 different
200 cubic foot vehicles with different weight capacities. There are
options for EVERYTHING. With these rules, you can design anything from
a chariot (example included) to a Starship, a battlesuit to a computer-
controlled life-like dragon.

I'm not saying this to plug the book. The point is its holistic approach,
which allows all of these things to be treated effectively by the same
set of rules.
