In our little shadowrun group we have used the kfc rule and it has worked
out fine. Our GM has us on a tiered system we can purchase a max of 10
karma points by doing good deeds etc (this occurs in actual game play)
once we have done that we cannot use it again until we get double in real
karma what we bought. Then we can do it again but each point costs us
20,000 nuyen. I my self used it to purchase my first initiation after
meeting an extremely powerful inishiate who decided that I would be an
amusing diversion.
